A New Face for Every Truth by Michel Doumit

01 / 2026

A New Face for Every Truth

A New Face for Every Truth The face changes, but certainty remains. Within one body, several versions of reality coexist. Each layer speaks from a different position, each eye witnesses another event, and each mouth reshapes the past to fit the present. Truth is no longer discovered; it is arranged. The political analyst becomes a mirror of power, reflecting whichever image is most useful at the time. As opinions replace one another, identity dissolves into performance. The work asks a quiet question: when every truth requires a new face, which face is real?

The Political Analyst

The Political Analyst. With every new event, a different eye opens, another mouth speaks, and yesterday’s certainty quietly disappears beneath today’s argument. Opinions overlap, contradict and replace one another, while each new position is presented as if it had always been the truth. These distorted portraits reflect the instability of public commentary—the ability to defend one idea today and its opposite tomorrow. Behind the confident voice, many faces compete for attention, shaped by pressure, interest, ideology and the direction of the moment. The work does not portray one individual. It portrays a public character who survives by continuously changing his face.

The Argument Changes by Michel Doumit

The Argument Changes

The Argument Changes A face divided by its own certainty. Each eye follows a different truth, while every mouth rehearses an explanation for the present moment. Yesterday’s conviction is slowly buried beneath today’s necessity, and contradiction becomes invisible when spoken with enough confidence. The political analyst does not merely interpret events; he reconstructs himself through them. Memory becomes selective, truth becomes flexible, and identity shifts according to the direction of power. What remains constant is not the opinion, but the performance of being certain.

The Toxic Plantation

The Toxic Plantation I planted hope in poisoned soil. Watched it grow into silence, roots drinking what I never chose, leaves heavy with inherited damage. This face is the harvest— not what I am, but what I survived. Some gardens teach you how to endure.

Echoes of the Unformed Self

Echoes of the Unformed Self. A visual dialogue between memory, emotion, and identity. This piece unravels the human psyche through layered abstraction—faces emerge, dissolve, and re-emerge, revealing how our inner world is constantly shifting. The work captures the raw beauty of being in flux—unfinished, complex, and unapologetically alive.

The Chair, My Life

The chair, my life—a fleeting position, shifting with power, loss, and purpose. Rising, falling, transforming. I sit, I stand, I change. Life flows through the chairs I hold and the ones I leave behind, shaping and unshaping me.

Now You’re Gone

now you're gone, and I'm alone, With memories that are etched in stone. So let me hold, the memories close, And cherish them, like a precious rose. For in my heart, you still reside, A love that once bloomed, and now has died.

Ma Sœur et Moi. let not the world outside dictate, What you must be or imitate. Embrace the goat inside of you, And let it guide you to something new. For in the end, it is your own goat, That will bring you joy and hope. And like a sister, or a friend, It will stay with you until the end. Mixed media on canvas, 120*90 cm,
